چکیده

Introduction Acetaminophen (APAP) intoxication from overdosing can result in severe hepatic damage, which is characterized by hemorrhagic centrilobular necrosis and by towering the levels of transaminase. The APAP-induced hepatic necrosis is preceded by centrilobular microvascular congestion thought to be due to collapse of the sinusoidal wall and the infiltration of blood elements into the space of Disse [1]. These findings suggest that, in addition to direct hepatocellular damage, sinusoidal endothelial cells (SECs) participate in liver injury elicited by APAP overdose. As a result, the present study was conducted to examine changes in hepatic microcirculation after APAP administration using in vivo microscopic methods.

Evaluation the protective effects of doxycycline on acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in mice

Acetaminophen (APAP) toxicity threatens human health due to increased mortality associated with its overdose. Doxycycline (DC) because of its properties such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory can be a good therapeutic strategy to treat the acute toxicity induced by APAP. Male mice were divided to six groups in two periods of 3 and 24-h as normal saline, APAP 400 mg/kg, DC 100 mg/kg and group...

The Effect of Rebadioside A on Attenuation of Oxidative Stress in ‎Kidney of Mice under Acetaminophen Toxicity

Background: Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose causes renal and hepatic injury. It is ‎also believed that oxidative stress has a pivotal role in APAP-induced renal injury. ‎Therefore, protective effects of different antioxidants have been examined in APAP-‎induced renal and hepatic toxicity models. Stevia rebadiana is a plant with a high ‎degree of natural antioxidant activity in its leaf extract. T...

اثر محافظتی عصاره زردچوبه (Curcuma longa) در مسمومیت کبدی حاد ناشی از استامینوفن در موش آزمایشگاهی

Background and Objective: Acetaminophen is widely used as an analgesic and antipyretic drug, and when given in high doses can causes hepatic and renal injury in both human and animal. The liver damage in form of centrilobular necrosis is induced by using acetaminophen, depends on the cytochrome P-450 activities. In the present study hepatoprotective effects of Curcuma longa extract on hepatic i...
